The Brimpsfield & Mid-Cotswold Garden Society, founded in 1971, serves the villages in the area between Gloucester and Cirencester. As well as our annual Show, we organise occasional outings for members, a spring plant sale and a summer garden party and hold winter meetings with a horticultural theme and a strong social element. Members benefit from a discount at Dundry Nurseries, Staverton and can take advantage of significantly reduced prices through our bulk order with Dobies Seeds.
We aim to be a friendly society and we welcome anyone with an interest, however general, in gardens and gardening.

Saturday 26th April 2025 - Plant Sale & Coffee Morning 10.30am for 11.00 am - Brimpsfield Village Hall.
Dear Members,
attached is the April newsletter, with a reminder of our Plant Sale on 26th April; we hope to see you there! Also the newsletter contains a couple of requests for help: one is for offers of cakes, and/or offers of help in the kitchen, for our events, and the other is for Brimpsfield members to consider opening their gardens for our summer event. Let me know if you're able to help with either of these.
Membership subscriptions for 2025-26 are now due from those of you not at the AGM; you can get your membership card at the Plant Sale or any other of our events.
Happy gardening!
Frances Ellery
AND
Dear Members,
No sooner had the newsletter gone out than I was notified of some other dates for your diary – opportunities for garden days out!
On Easter Monday (21st April) the AGS Cotswold & Malvern Alpine Group will be holding their Show & Plant Sale at Hartpury Village Hall, Over Old Road, Hartpury, Gloucester, GL19 3BJ, 11am-4pm, with plant sales and refreshments. You can find further information at https://www.gfgs.org.uk/shows/default.htm .
The Alpine Garden Society has a lovely garden at Wick near Pershore, which they will be opening for the National Garden Scheme starting with Saturday April 26th. On 17th May they have Julie Ritchie from Hoo House nursery selling plants. There’s more information on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/566917827130633/permalink/2012412129247855/
And on 4th May, Upleadon is holding an informal Open Gardens event: four gardens open, including that of Pam Turner, one of our members and the speaker at our last coffee morning; refreshments will be available. No charge, but donations in aid of their village hall would be welcomed.
Happy garden visiting!
Frances Ellery
