The Brimpsfield & Mid-Cotswold Garden Society, founded in 1971, serves the villages in the area between Gloucester and Cirencester. As well as our annual Show, we organise occasional outings for members, a spring plant sale and a summer garden party and hold winter meetings with a horticultural theme and a strong social element. Members benefit from a discount at Dundry Nurseries, Staverton and can take advantage of significantly reduced prices through our bulk order with Dobies Seeds.
We aim to be a friendly society and we welcome anyone with an interest, however general, in gardens and gardening.
Contact the Secretary, Frances Ellery for further information - Tel: 01452 862412 or email: brimpsfieldgardensociety@gmail.com
Dear Members,
Please find below our April newsletter; our next event is the Plant Sale and coffee morning on Saturday 27th April, a great opportunity to come along, chat with your neighbours, enjoy coffee and cake and bring-and-buy new treasures for your garden! If you haven't already done so, you can also renew your membership for the coming year (or you can do so at any future event). There are also ideas for days out in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Happy gardening!
Frances Ellery

Dear Members,
As promised in the last newsletter, here are the minutes of last year's AGM; the agenda for this year's; and the Chairman's report for 2023-24. The meeting (on Saturday 6th April) will start at 11.45 prompt, so please be there ahead of that time.
In addition, this year we shall vote on a charity to support (with the proceeds from the Show auction) for the coming year. The candidates are the Brockworth Hedgehog Rescue, and the Butterfly Garden in Staverton (which provides activities and support for disadvantaged people and those with learning disabilities). If you're not coming to the AGM, you can register your vote by letting me know (in advance of the meeting, obviously).
There are still places available for the AGM and lunch; if you haven't done so already, please let us know if you're coming! We hope it will be an enjoyable social occasion as well as formalising the Society's business; lunch will be free, and wine will be available at £2 per glass. Thanks to those who have sent apologies; and we hope that, whatever your plans for the week are, you have a happy Easter!.
Happy gardening!
Frances Ellery

AGM & Lunch
We had a good turnout again in February for our Saturday morning talk on Container Gardening with Harriet Rycroft.
Harriet gave us a lot of tips on how to make the most of our pots, and how important observations on position and plant suitability was. She finished with a demo of planting up a spring container.
Silversurfers is a website for tose who are interested in gardening and other hobbies and is linked to an excellent radio station called Boom Light.
