The Brimpsfield & Mid-Cotswold Garden Society, founded in 1971, serves the villages in the area between Gloucester and Cirencester. As well as our annual Show, we organise occasional outings for members, a spring plant sale and a summer garden party and hold winter meetings with a horticultural theme and a strong social element. Members benefit from a discount at Dundry Nurseries, Staverton and can take advantage of significantly reduced prices through our bulk order with Dobies Seeds.
We aim to be a friendly society and we welcome anyone with an interest, however general, in gardens and gardening.
Contact the Secretary, Frances Ellery for further information - Tel: 01452 862412 or email: brimpsfieldgardensociety@gmail.com
Dear Members,
just a reminder that the first coffee morning talk of the winter season is this Saturday, 5th October: the speaker is Kevin Alviti, who will talk on Preserving the Harvest. The talk will start at 11am, with the usual coffee and cakes available from 10.30. We look forward to seeing you there!
Happy gardening!
Dear Members,
some information just in:
it may seem a long way off, but the committee is already booking speakers for the 2025-26 coffee mornings! One of them is going to speak on (and give a hands-on demonstration of) 'Tool Sharpening for the Terrified'. If you can't wait until then to get your shears, hoes, garden scissors, secateurs etc sharpened, you can take them along to Dundry Nurseries in Staverton on the third Saturday of the month, starting this weekend - 21st September, when a mobile tool sharpener will be in attendance all day - a poster is attached.
While you're there, remember that Dundry give us a 10% discount on production of your membership card, so take the opportunity of stocking up. This is now the only discount that is available to our members, as Dobies Seeds have decided not to renew our deal with them.
Happy gardening!
Frances Ellery
